Al currently serves as a senior partner at Sunlight Works/DUB Utah. Al’s experience in helping companies and college campuses create safe and secure environments for their employees and students began as CEO, beVoco, a company focused on eliminating harassment in the workplace. BeVoco empowers employees and students to share and safely resolve issues involving workplace or campus harassment, bullying, and discrimination in a professional manner directly from their desktop, laptop, iPad or mobile phone. A major component of the platform included harassment training to provide entities an understanding of proper conduct in the workplace and on campus.
Before beVoco, Al served as Principal of his own consulting firm specializing in providing strategic counsel to small businesses in the areas of business development, sales and government relations. His focus is primarily in the areas of defense, homeland security, aviation, and unmanned systems, as he lobbied for the defense and aerospace industry in Washington, DC for 16 years prior to moving west in 2007 to serve as Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Insitu, Inc, a Boeing owned company, with responsibility for sales, marketing and government relations. Tremendous growth in revenue occurred under the leadership of Mr. Jackson, as sales went from $84 million to $254 million during in his 3-year tenure.
While living in Utah from 2010-2016, Al served in the Utah State Senate representing District 14, which encompassed much of northern Utah County. He chaired Transportation, Public Utilities & Technology and served also on Government Operations & Political Subdivisions and Social Services Appropriations.
Mr. Jackson has a BS degree in Aviation Business Administration from Embry-Riddle University and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University. He serves on the Embry-Riddle University’s President’s Advisory Board, and Brigham Young University’s Marriot Business School National Advisory Committee. He also serves, on a volunteer basis, as national faculty for the Thomas Jefferson Center for Constitutional Studies. Mr. Jackson mentors young people in a variety of settings and also is called upon to speak on topics related to business, leadership and government.
