Camlyn Giddins

(She/They)

Operations Manager & Senior Consultant

Camlyn was raised in a home of arts and social work. Her love for people translated into getting a BA in film and media arts. Camlyn loves the transformation that happens through relationships, art, and learning and she often works to create spaces or retreats that facilitate connection and healing.

In the midst of her film program, Camlyn took on a number of service-leadership responsibilities, planning monthly community service events, recruiting as a program director for local non-profits, and mentoring other students in leadership and personal development. Volunteering over 800 hours serving diverse populations, Camlyn studied and conceptualized on councils about how to teach students to apply principles of quality service.

Camlyn has produced, filmed, edited, and interviewed for a number of documentary projects. One of her favorite projects was on the African American Civil Rights Movement covering 5 states, interviewing 28 civil rights veterans, and filming over 20 historical sites.

Seeking human interaction after editing on a screen for so long, Camlyn moved to Washington D.C. to be an assistant teacher to 113 third and fourth grade students. The students stole her heart and showed her the value of social and emotional needs in educational settings. In 2018 Camlyn returned to Utah and began her career as a high school teacher where she designs curriculum and teaches new courses around art production, storytelling, service-learning, and culture.

While teaching, Camlyn also worked as Community Engagement Manager at the LGBTQ+ Resource Center, Encircle, where she hosted events that invited conversation and understanding. She also represented the organization on local committees involving educators, healthcare workers, mayors and parents. For four years, she offered cultural humility trainings to individuals of various industries and faith traditions in conference, classroom, workplace, or church settings.

Camlyn enjoys dancing, learning from farmers, interviewing people, reading, watching a good film, learning something new, or being in nature.
